Affording home care and aging in place renovations is a very common concern. Please review the Medicare FAQ page, to check if you the medical care you need is covered by Medicare.

Here are a few additional ways that you can receive financial assistance with home care and companionship services.

Long Term Care Insurance

Long Term Care Insurance is different from traditional health insurance because it is designed to cover your long-term care needs, support, and services when the inevitable impact of aging or acquired disability catches up with you. It includes custodial and personal care whenever and wherever you plan to receive care be it in your own home, nursing facility, or a community organization.  Home Health Specialty Plus will assist in obtaining the benefits from your Long Term Care Insurance.

Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders (CHCPE)

Connecticut Home Care Program for Elders is supported by state and  federal funds. It is administered by the Connecticut Dept. of Social Services (DSS) with services provided through the regional not-for-profit agencies.  Home Health Specialty Plus is an approved vendor and works with your Case Manager, if you are already accepted into this program.

Title 19 Program

Title 19 (also referred to as “Medical Assistance” or “Medicaid”) is a joint federal-state welfare program which provides funding to cover the costs of nursing home and assisted living care for individuals who meet certain income and asset requirements.

Home Health Specialty Plus is an approved provider for the Title 19 program and works closely with Connecticut Community Care to provide services.
